Restaurant Workers’ Community Foundation (RWCF): Check-In Resource

Our teams are the heartbeat of the industry and, in the midst of uncertainty, transparency, communication, and resources make an enormous difference. The Restaurant Workers’ Community Foundation (RWCF)—an advocacy and action nonprofit created by and for restaurant workers—published a comprehensive guide for managers to check in on their teams.

As the RWCF notes, "With so many restaurant employees still out of work, now is the time to check in with your team to see if they're ok or if they need extra help to get by. As the economy begins to reopen, some workers inevitably will be left behind. The vast majority of restaurants won't have the covers or revenue to even come close to bringing back their full teams. But rent will still be due and families still need to be fed—long after workers' added $600/week unemployment benefits expire at the end of July."

Below you will find their comprehensive resource—Restaurant Manager Check-In Resource Packet—that outlines several pressing topics from unemployment benefits, to mental health, to resources for children.

As this crisis evolves, RWCF hopes to lean on restaurant managers to help bridge the gap between workers and owners. Stay up to date on how you can help by joining their Restaurant Managers Network [here].
